Stat Box Stories is a feature at GoodGameBro.com where a member of the site staff plays a real-life match-up in the corresponding video game to experience that result and share the game statistics. Today, Paakaa10 plays a Thursday night Pac-12 Conference match-up between the #3 Oregon Ducks and #5 Stanford Cardinal using NCAA Football 14 on PlayStation 3 to see who emerges victorious.
The game was played on All-American difficulty with 7 minute quarter lengths; Paakaa10 chose to play as the Ducks.
Last season, the Oregon Ducks had scored no fewer than 42 points in a game on their way to a 10-0 record entering their game at home against the Stanford Cardinal on Saturday, November 17th, 2012. All hopes of then #2-ranked Oregon making it to the BCS National Championship Game evaporated with a stifling 17-14 loss in overtime, relegating the Ducks to a Tostitos Fiesta Bowl match-up against the Kansas State Wildcats instead of their desired end result.
This year presents a similar situation for Oregon; they enter the game against Stanford with an 8-0 record, but this year they’ll be going on the road to face 7-1 Stanford with major title implications on the line. Will the Cardinal again prove to be too much for the Ducks? Or is this the year that Oregon keeps their winning ways going to try and make their case for a berth in the final BCS National Championship Game?
