PES 2015 Takes the Pitch with Launch Trailer, Day 1 Update

After a disappointing showing on last-generation consoles a year ago, while EA SPORTS FIFA 14 was left to show off on the new console generation, Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 has made its debut on the Sony PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Xbox One with renewed vigor and a newfound swagger, touting the marketing tagline “The Pitch is Ours” to represent their confidence in the on-field product.  Early reviews and impressions around the gaming world have suggested that PES 2015 is true competition to FIFA 15 in a manner not seen in many years, and the game’s launch trailer (below) sets out the core values of the “PES experience.”

Along with the release of the game and that launch trailer, Konami also put forth a press release confirming the game’s licenses, as well as details of a Day 1 Update.

The game features the following licensed competitions, teams, and leagues:

  • UEFA Champions League (exclusive)
  • UEFA Europa LEague (exclusive)
  • South American Copa Libertadores (exclusive)
  • South American Copa Sudamericana (exclusive)

  • Team rosters for English and Italian second-tier leagues (real players, not licensed teams)

The Day 1 Update adds the following:

  • 93 new authentic kits in the game
  • 8 more licensed teams including Sparta Praha, FK Partisan, and Maccabi Tel Aviv
  • Brazil league will have six teams (Santos, Internacional, Vasco da Gama, Vitoria, Criciuma, and Chapecoense) updated to include an additional 109 real athlete names
