NBA 2K16: How to Throw Alley-Oops | How to Run Pick & Rolls

NBA 2K16 - How to Throw Alley-Oops

The controls have changed in NBA 2K16, so I’m teaching you how to throw alley-oops in NBA 2K16 and how to run pick & rolls to help you dominate your opponents. Last year required a more complex method, but this year only requires a double-tap of the same face button for alley-oops.

If you’re on Xbox One, you can double-tap the Y button. Users on the Playstation 4 can double-tap the triangle button to throw alley-oops.

Want to know how to throw self alley-oops as well? Not sure how to switch the side of the screen in the pick & roll? I’ve got you covered.

Ok so you say all you do is double tap the specific button to throw alley oops, well I tried that and nothing seems to be working. All that happens is when I double tap the player I’m trying to alley oop to just gets the ball and lays it in. So this double tap crap is not working, any more suggestions?!

You have to press LT and X ( xbox 360 or xbox one) or L2 and square ( PS4 or PS3).

I can double tap all day and my player is not throwing any alley oops. All it does is lob passes and whoever rushes to the hoop will immediately break up his drive and only catch the lob pass. So fastbreak doesn’t work at all.
I even tried the self alley oop when I was running to the basket all alone. It would still only throw lob passes to any other player.
So who can help? I have no clue what I’m doing wrong! The timing can’t have changed that drastically. I’m even experimenting with the double click rhythm: slower, quicker. These new controls are really annoying.
